Recreation is from the latin meaning "to create again or renew." It includes sports as well as all forms of refreshment and enjoyment.
Not only has the Lord blessed us with tremendous outdoor facilities for sports, but our church property is host to a number of groups and events focused on refreshment and enjoyment.
A support group for weary moms, we want the well to be a place for refreshment as you get to know other moms in the community and put your feet up as we care for your children. Meets in Debbie Wenger's office Sunday nights 5-6pm on June 3rd, and 6:30-8pm from June 10 to August this summer.
Wed Nite Life Dinners (Resumes this fall!)
Every Wed. night during the academic year (Sept-May) we host a free meal at 5:30pm. Donations are welcome but not required. After the meal there are a number of opportunities for continued refreshment including a gathering of adults discussing outreach (called Gospel Conversations), a Conversational English course geared towards our Spanish speaking neighbors, a mom's group called The Well, as well as programs for children and teens.
Hosted by our retirees but open to everyone, the Classics is a monthly gathering of which includes a meal and a special speaker. Invitations and reminders are sent out by John Hursey. E-mail him to make sure he has your contact information for the Fall when Classics resumes.
